![]() ![]() United States: Los Angeles, Miami, Newark, San Jose, New York. There are city-level server options for the US and UK: Overall, Touch VPN’s privacy policy is a mess. ![]() The VPN service is also prepared to “allow business partners to place certain tracking technologies in services.” These “business partners” include 1Password and Identity Guard. You even have to allow the app to track your phone in your device’s settings in order to use it. It’s basically tracking all of your clicks and activities. Touch VPN talks about how it uses “tracking technologies,” such as cookies and page tags. The service justifies the above by claiming that knowing your location helps “to provide you with better service.” How this is supposed to work exactly, we’re not quite sure.Įven if Touch VPN didn’t log your IP address, your approximate location combined with your internet service provider would be enough to identify you. The fact Touch VPN needs to know your “approximate geographic location” based on your IP address goes to show how far it is from being a privacy-friendly VPN. Touch VPN will collect your original IP address. There are much better free VPNs available that can encrypt your data, access streaming services, and allow you to torrent. To put it simply, Touch VPN falls short in all areas. We can’t recommend Touch VPN for torrenting either as the VPN blocks P2P activity and only offers a kill switch on its Android app. It’s an awful VPN for streaming, failing to unblock any streaming services and imposing a 500MB data cap. It’s also based in the US which means it’s subject to invasive privacy laws and under the jurisdiction of the data-sharing Five Eyes alliance. Touch VPN has an overly-intrusive logging policy that collects your IP address, geo-location, and Internet Service Provider (ISP). The Windows client refuses to establish a VPN connection and the Microsoft store app leaks your DNS requests. This hasn’t led to an improvement in performance, though. Previously a mobile-only VPN, Touch VPN now supports native apps on Windows and macOS, in addition to Android and iOS. ![]()
